Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. We are beginning our last week of school here and I am ready for it to end so we can start the summer!
We attended the high school band banquet on Friday night and got the exciting news that my daughter was chosen to be the Drum Major of the High School Band next year. We are so very excited for her! It's become a tradition with out family. My father was the Drum Major of his HS band. My Husband was the Drum Major of our HS band and now our daughter. She has been floating on a cloud the whole weekend after the news but finals start today so hopefully she'll be able to pull her head out of the clouds!
Well...it's Monday so you know it's time for the CHF design team challenge. This week we were challenged to use glossy paper in our design. I decided to play with the crayon resist technique. It's a fun and simple technique with really cool results.
First I stamped my image with Adirondack Pitch Black dye ink on glossy paper and let it dry. Once dry I took a white crayon (yep, just the regular ole' Crayola crayon...your kids never use it) and I colored the light house and parts of the rocks and then I drew in the "light" shining from the lighthouse. I used my sponge daubers to add color to the picture and then I rubbed across the image with a kleenex to pick up the color from the crayon. I used a Copic marker to color the roofs. Finally, I assembled the card.
Here is the finished project:

-Friendship Lighthouse

-Ranger Gloss Paper
