Home Decor Challenge

Another Monday...another challenge chick's challenge. This weeks challenge is to make something fun and special for your home or to give as a gift.

I bought this little silver water can from Michael's craft store a while back on clearance. It was $2 and though I wasn't exactly sure what I would do with it, I thought it was cute. It's been sitting on my craft table full of my colored pencils since then but it was a little boring looking. This challenge was the perfect push I needed to dress it up a little.

I stamped these Cuddling Cardinals on Simply Smooth White paper and colored with copic markers. Then I cut it out and attached it to the water carn with glossy accents and covered the entire image with the glossy accents. A little bow and wala! a cute little home decor project! I think it would look great with some greenery or flowers in it too but I am going to keep it on my craft table with the pencils because it makes me happy everytime I see it now!
I know the other design team members who participated in today's challenge came up with some great projects so grab your cup of coffee and have some fun blog hopping!

I wouldn't have thought to use Glossy Accents like that! Great idea and it sure gussies up a simple tin for your pencils~

This is gorgeous! I can easily picture this as a centerpiece for your holiday table.... that is if you can part with it from your stamping space. It would hard to do, considering how cute this is!

Love it!

Such cuteness, Kristine! I love cardinals (unlike our gal, Michele LOL), and I think you've pushed me over the edge with this project. Guess what's going to be on my rubber list on the first?!

Fun idea for your pencil pot, I can see it would make you smile to have it there on your craft desk every time you reach for a Prismacolor! Maybe you could make a twin for it for your holiday greenery arrangment!

Very clever. I love it. You can use it for flowers too on your table. It has many uses.
