Rich. Warm, & Strong

I was in Louisiana for work earlier in the week and have been going a little nuts playing catch up since then. And if that wasn't enough, my daughter decided that she wanted to paint her room before her brother comes home on Saturday so that she could store her things in his room while painting so I've been trying to guide her on that project. Very proud of my ability to sit on my hands and not paint it myself....she is 18 now after all! So...I haven't stamped at all this week- but I have a card to share that I made before I left for Louisiana.

I made this card for the DTGD challenge going on this week for fan club members at Splitcoast Stampers. It's based one of the sketch challenges. It also fulfills the "faux" challenge to use no patterned paper or store bought embellishments.

I created the patterned paper by stamping random coffee cups in brown ink on kraft paper. I used clear Acetate for one of the layers of the sketch so that it wouldn't cover up the coffee cups. I stamped one cup on a scrap piece of paper, colored it, and cut it out for the coffee cup embellishment. The sentiment and cup are GinaK. The main image is a digi from In Style Stamps.

Even though I didn't stamp this week I did color alot!!! This is what I do when I travel. I stamp/print out a bunch of images and I take them on the plane and color away. The poor TSA agents don't quite know what to think of the 100+ markers I travel with. I guess they look a little strange in the X-ray machine. And the people on the plane probably think I'm a little strange coloring away but I don't care. I am very productive and the time just "fly" by for me!

So I will be busy making cards out of these images over the weekend and I'll have lots of fun things to share with you next week! Have a great weekend!

Very cute!! I am curious how you carry your markers. I always feel like they are falling all over.

I can only dream of coloring with such a lack of stress (beginners lack of skill) but it is a great idea that I can't wait to tell my girls.
