Gelato Canvas

Today is the final day of the Stampendous design team's week long collaboration with

I really wanted to try and get out of my box a little bit for my final project and I have to say that I am beyond thrilled with the way this mixed media canvas turned out!

I started by coloring all over this 8 x 8 canvas with gelatos from the 50's Diner set.
I used Blood Orange, Banana, Squid Ink, and Aqua Dolce Gelatos and blended all the colors with a water brush.

When dry I added heart shaped doilies to the  canvas using Paper Mod Podge.
Then I added the red dots with the stencil that comes with the Wired stamp set, using my finger to add Blood Orange Gelato.

The final touch to the base canvas was to stamp the mesh pattern from the Wired Stamp Set directly on the canvas using the Squid Ink Gelato.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of tissue paper and added it to the canvas with Paper Mod Podge.  I stamped the lady (Glance by Stampendous) on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento dye ink and colored her with Copic Markers.

I added her to the canvas with Paper Mod Podge.
For the flowers, I stamped Jumbo Peruvian Lily with VersaMark ink and the painted them using a water color brush and Banana and Blood Orange Gelatos.
I cut the flowers apart so I could arrange them on the canvas.  I glued them down down with Beacon Zip Dry Adhesive leaving the edges free to curl up a little bit.

Stamps:
Mohawk Bright White
Tissue Paper
Ink:
Memento Tuxedo Black
VersaMark by Tsukineko
Other:
Plaid Paper Mod Podge

I hope you enjoyed all the projects the team shared this week!

Thanks for stopping by!
