C4C424-Dessert Card

The fun ladies over at the Crazy4challenges blog asked me to stick around  for one more month so I am back today with another challenge card.

Today's challenge is to create a card that features dessert.

Here is the card that I came up with.

The image is from Art Impressions.
I colored it with Prisma color pencils and blended with gamsol and blending stumps.

The paper was from my scrap stash.

The Happy Birthday is a die from The Stamps of Life.

I hope you enjoyed my take on the dessert challenge and that you'll try the challenge too.

C4C423-Add some Cake

It's time for another challenge on the Crazy4challenges blog.

Today, we were challenged to celebrate birthdays.

Here is the card I came up with for today's challenge.

The background was created with the Sizzix Happy Birthday Background Die.
I cut it out of patterned paper but didn't love how it looked so I sponged kiwi, guava, and Ocean ink on it before adhering it to the Ocean card base.

The cake was created with the Cake2stamp and the matching dies.

Happy Birthday Garret!

Today is my baby boys 23rd birthday!

He lives in NY so I woke up one morning last week realizing that I need to get his card in the mail that day if it was going to get to him in time so I popped out of bed and made this!

This card was pretty quick and easy to make with all the coordinating papers, stamps and dies from The Stamps of Life!

The cake was die cut using he Cake Triplits dies.

I used Happy4banners for the sentiment.

I spoke to my boy today and the card arrived in time for his birthday.

I hope you got a little inspiration from it as well!

Happy Birthday Ute!

Yesterday was my friend Ute's  birthday!

I am in NY this week but I made her card and got it to her before she left.
She is a stamping buddy so there is always a little more pressure to make an amazing card and I am pretty happy with how this one turned out!

I created an easel card with a new Art Impressions stamp set.

This is Giant Cake Set.
Here is how the card looks when it is closed up and ready to mail.
I colored the image with colored pencils

The paper is Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.
The ribbon is from Creative Impressions.

The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Stampendous!

I am excited to get back home so we can celebrate with some cake...and wine.

Happy Birthday Ute!

See you soon!

Cake Tiers

Today I am sharing a birthday card that I created using a new image from Stampendous.

Instructions:
  1. Fold a 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" panel of blue cardstock in half to create the card base.
  2. Adhere a pink and a yellow panel on to the front of the card.
  3. Stamp the Dessert Display image on white cardstock with black ink and color with pencil.
  4. Die cut the display trimming around the edges of the cakes so the are "out of the box.
  5. Back with a larger blue die cut panel and adhere to card.
  6. Stamp sentiment on a white die cut circle with black ink.
  7. Back with a blue and a yellow die cut panel and then adhere to card.

I colored the images with Prisma color pencils and blended with gamsol and blending stumps.
