I just wanted to share this picture of my Girl Scout Troop (My daughter is the one on my right). I have been the leader of this troop since they were in first grade (they had a different leader in kindergarten who quit) and now they are all Freshman in High School. Today we celebrated their earning their Silver Award. This is the highest achievement you can earn as a Cadette Girl Scout (age 11-14) and I am VERY proud of them! We had a celebration brunch at a little restaurant here in Moorpark with our families and I presented the girls with their awards. The girls had to put in a lot of volunteer and leadership hours before they even started their actual "project" but then they spent over 40 hours each sewing "cool ties" for Operation Gratitude to send to the soldiers. They also stamped over 200 cards for the soldiers...well you had to figure that some card making would be involved too, didn't you?

That is so totally cool. I have girls in Daisy-Junior right now (next year just Brownie and Junior) and we haven't even started on things of that nature because we have at least one more year (if not 2) before we have to start planning the bronze award.
