SoCal Stampmania 5

I'm back from Stampmania 5! Had a really fun time there. My adventure started on Friday afternoon at The Fabric Barn in Long Beach. I can't believe I have never been there before. I've heard about it but the stories didn't really do it justice! I don't know why they call it the fabric barn. The place has about 20 bolts of fabric and the rest is mainly wall to wall ribbons!!! Thousands of rolls of ribbon. Most of what I bought was 5 yds. for $1. I couldn't believe it and yes....I went a little nuts! Here's the pile of ribbon that I bought.

Pretty awesome, huh? Believe me I couldn't have gotten more but I showed restraint...imagine if I hadn't!

After the Fabric Barn I headed over to the hotel. I was staying with Rochelle at the Embassy Suites. She invited her friends (mine now too) to the room to stamp with us. The four of us ordered room service and stamped till about 2:30 AM. Fun, Fun, Fun!!

The next morning we got up, stamped a little more, and then headed over to Stampmania. Jami, Emily, and Joy had this event very organized! We dropped off our snacks and our door prizes and set up our shoe box swap. Then we started rotating around the room doing the shoe box swaps. I got to make a total of 11 shoe box swap cards and 2 make and takes. I was exhausted from my late night on Friday so I skipped the dinner and drove home after the stamping. Today I am just getting my house picked up after leaving the family for two days and getting the laundry done. Hope to stamp tomorrow. But even though I didn't stamp today I still have somethig cool to share with you.

This is the door prize that I made for Stampmania. I made it a few weeks ago and it has been so hard to not share but I wanted to wait till after the event. I just love how it turned out!

I always wanted to try to make one of these DVD memo pad holders. I thought the need for a door prize was the perfect opportunity to try it!

Ok, one last thing to share before I go fold laundry. I have to show you how I organized that big pile of ribbon. I kept thinking that if I left it in that jumbled mess I would forget what I have and it wouldn't get used. So I stopped by Joanns and picked up some of these big plastic thingy's to wrap the ribbon around and now I can see it all at a glance! Cool huh? Have a great rest of your weekend!

Kristine, I had so much fun too. I am super tired as well. I was up until 3am Saturday night. My ribbon is still in my bag and my 50,000 suitcases that I brought are still by the door. I am going to bed. Thanks for bunking with me. I had a great time. Same time next year I hope.
Your door prize is super cute. I know who ever got it will love it too.
