I usually try to use some of the same paper on the card that I use for the paper piecing because I think it helps make it "pop".
I colored his skin and hair with my spectrum Noir Markers:

Piecing or piercing? Looking at your adorable card, I'm fairly certain piecing, but for those who only look at titles...
