I spent some time last night putting together my monthly shipment of cards for
Angel Stampers for Soldiers. Carol Perry collects hand made cards every month to send to the soldiers over seas to show them how thankful we are for their sacrifice. She has a suggestions of themes for each month for the cards that stampers send to her but of course she'll accept any hand stamped cards any time. This month the theme is Bears and Sunflowers. I love to stamp and would just end up with shoe boxes of cards if I didn't have a place to send them too. I love knowing that these cards go to such a great place!
For my Angel cards I typically keep the sketches and embelishments pretty simple so that I can get more cards done. I don't spend a lot of time planning them out but just grab scraps of designer paper that seems to fit. I use paper from the cardstock packs sold at Michael's that I can buy with my 40% off coupon. I stamped all these bear images in advance and then colored them whenever I had time. (waiting for my flights, waiting in the dentist waiting room, watching TV, etc) Then all I had to do was throw the cards together.
Stamps: Stampendous, Whipper Snapper, Stampin' Up!
Ink: black
Paper: Various papers lying on my craft table!
Accessories: primas, brads, ribbon, circle punches
