Beautiful Palms

I made this card over the weekend for the Featured Stamper’s Challenge on SCS. It features another one of Asela Hopkins new Tree images from CHF.

This is Veronica's card that I cased for the challenge.

I used this beautiful date palm tree stamp which was released to day along with 5 other tree images-all drawn by our very own Asela!

I stamped this tree with coffee bean pigment ink and then embossed it with brown embossing powder. I am not certain of the color because the powder is not in it’s original container. When I first started stamping my friend and I went in half-sies on a bunch of different colors of embossing powder and split it between us so it is just stored in a little plastic container. I added the color to the image with my H20 paints. The shimmer doesn’t show well in the picture but it’s really pretty. I stamped the background with the weathered wood backgrounder an then attached a piece of cardstock which I ran through the cuttlebug. The sentiment is from Silhouette Blloms I.

Backed the tree and sentiment with cardstock and assembled the card adding the metal embellishment as the final touch.

I decided to make one more card with the scraps on my table. I didn’t exactly follow the layout of the first card but they did turn out very similar.

This one uses the Gingham Backgrounder and scripty words. I colored the image with prismcolor pencils and blended with mineral spirits and blending stumps. Metal embelishments are from We R Memory Keepers.

Both are very pretty Kristine. I love the second one the best. I think it is the colors.
