Working on my new craft room

No card to share today but instead I have a little craft room inspiration!

I hope you are having a great Labor Day weekend!
I am spending mine doing lots of labor!

My daughter is starting her final year in college and moved into an unfurnished apartment for this final year.  So...she needed her bedroom furniture.  The lighting and layout of her room is so much better than my current craft room so I decided to move in there!

And....as long as I am moving I thought this would be a good time to buy some new furniture pieces and create a cute craft space.

Here is a look at my current space....not very inspiring!

This picture makes it look much bigger than it really is!
The desk is my old office desk.  I love all the storage that the shelves have but I hate how messy it looks because you can see everything on the shelves.

I am really looking forward to having matching furniture and being able to hide my supplies!
I was going to junk most of this furniture because it's falling apart but there are a few pieces that I really like.  This piece is a percussion cabinet from my kids middle school band room.
My son made a new one for his Eagle Scout project 6 years ago and his band teacher gave this to me.
It's not pretty but it works great for storage as well as providing a place for my die cutting area that is the perfect height.
Hubby and I fixed it up for my new space!  This is the before.

We painted the entire thing white and then I covered the top with some fun material and a piece of clear vinyl.  Here it is all fixed up in my new space.

These are some plastic storage drawers that I use to store my alterable stuff.

I saw an idea on Pinterest to decorate with patterned paper.
I decided to try it with material.  I just used decoupage to apply it.
Love how it turned out!

On Sunday we headed to Ikea to buy some new furniture for my new room.
Hubby and I put it all together and this is how it looks so far.

I am going to move the rest of my supplies in on Monday, make some curtains and add a few other finishing touches.  I will share more pics as soon as I get it all done.

Happy Labor Day!

Your room is coming together beautifully. I love the idea of the paper and vinyl top to dress something up, and the patterned paper on the drawer fronts is a super fun idea.
