Hero Arts Cupcakes

Rochelle has a set of four darling cupcake images made by Hero Arts and when I was at her house last week I stamped a bunch of them and punched them out with her small Marvy scallop punch.

I colored them on Wednesday while I was hanging out in the band room before school so the Jazz band could have a sectional rehearsal and then last night mass assemble some easy, quick birthday cards to add to my give away stash for the teachers gifts this Christmas. They are all easy layouts that I've used before but with these cute images and some glittery DCWV paper I think the recipients will like them!

That cute little cupcake on the left side of the first one is from Kim Hughes new Birthday Bash set and the sentiments are from Mona Lisa's moments, Birthday Centers.

I was going to work on some publication submissions today but I got some new Bella's in the mail yesterday and they are calling my name...maybe I could just make one quick Bella card before I start working....

"Ugly Bird" inspiration

So...the story goes like this....my friend Rochelle was in Minnesota this summer and was shopping with a friend at the LSS. Her friend picked up this bird stamp by Hero Arts and told Rochelle that she should buy it. Rochelle looked at her and asked, "Why would I buy that ugly bird stamp? It's UGLY!" So, like a true friend, her friend bought the stamp for her. Rochelle had fun making funny cards with her "ugly bird stamp" and sharing them with our Yahoo group.

Then she decided to have an "ugly bird card contest". She sent 8 of us 6 stamped images of the "ugly bird" and gave us a deadline to send in the cards. I made three cards and sent them in to her. The prize was your very own "ugly bird" stamp.

The top card uses basic grey DP and the sentiment is by Cornish Heritage Farms.

The second card uses Heidi Grace DP and the same sentiment.

This last card uses SU's Gable Green, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Pink Passion, and Summer Sun as well as that good 'ole cuttlebug.

Who won the contest?

EVERYONE! Yep, Rochelle didn't want to have to choose a winner, and having seen all the entries, it would have been tough....so she sent each of the participants our very own "ugly bird" stamp!!! So...lucky you...there will be more "ugly bird" cards in future blog posts!

Added on Saturday night:
I just saw that Rochelle posted all the ugly bird contest cards on her blog. Go check them out here!
