Fun Fan Bags

Spent most of this week collecting stuff from the band families and getting it priced for our annual Rummage Sale. The sale was yesterday and it went really well. We raised over $1600 for the program and have a lot left to donate so it was well worth my time.

I did this weeks tutorial over at the CHF Creative Blog which shows how to make these fun fan bags.

Now I am off to clean the house, do the laundry, pack for this weeks business trip to Mississippi, and then hopefully heading to the stamp room!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fruits & Vegies

Like most of you I don't get nearly close to the recommended daily dose of fruits and vegetables. I know I should eat better but I also know I won't. So I am thinking the next best thing to eating enough fruits and vegetable would be to stamp with them....right?

Well, with this new Shady Tree Studio release I'll have no problem getting enough fruits and vegies. Two new sets are being released to day by Cornish Heritage Farms and they are gorgeous!!!

There are so many uses for these stamps....

*Cards
*Coasters
*gift baskets
*scrapbooking
*recipie cards!

Here's a couple of 6 x 6 recipie cards that I made to share with you today:

I can't wait to see what all of you create with these stamps!
Hope you have a terrific day!

Holiday Cheer

A quick post today to share a quick and easy tag idea. I think I told you that I made Sangria for Jeff to take to everyone in the office. Well, today's the day he took them in. I made some quick tags to dress up the bottles.

The tags are from Staples. I stamped the sentiment and sponged the edges with L'Amore Red Pallette ink. Then I stamped the trees with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored them in with copic markers. All stamps are from Kim Hughes Heart Warmers set.

Here's how they all looked before Jeff carted them off to work.

I hope that all of you have a very blessed Christmas. Enjoy your friends and family. I'll be back in a couple of days!

Kissmoose Gift Card Holder

Any of you that know me, know that I am a huge multi-tasker, which allows me to get a lot done.

Today's post is a great example of this ability. I needed a card for my daughter to give to a friend of hers that could hold a gift card. I needed to make a sample project for today's CHF Prism Paper color challenge, and I needed something to post on today's blog.

Wa La!
I can't take credit for the idea...I got the idea from this weeks Technique Talk. It was so quick and easy to make!

Here is what it looks like when you take off the green band and lift the cover up.

And here's a side view of it.

So, if, like me, you are finishing up wrapping your gifts and need a cute, quick, gift card holder-try this project. Easy, Peasy, and so impressive!

Made this using this tutorial:

thomas Kinkade Gift Set

Rainy and humid in our neck of the woods this weekend.

We got really lucky though as it let up on Friday night and on Saturday night just long enough for the football games/marching band activities that we had scheduled. Today I am cleaning the trumpet sections muddy uniforms and getting the menu planning/grocery shopping done.

Hubby is going to Vegas for a few days so I am looking forward to stamping this week!

I wanted to share this beautiful project with you today. I created the tutorial for it for the CHF Technique Talk Forum.

It really is a pretty quick and simple project but the results are amazing!

Here's a closer picture of the set of cards.

and here's a closer picture of the completed box:

I hope that you are having a great weekend and that you get some time to stamp!

Quick and Easy Gift Bags

Last night, Becky Olsen, hosted a class over in the CHF Forums on making quick and easy gift bags. She used the new Thomas Kinkade Christmas Series Paper for her class. I decided to make one using paper from the Thomas Kinkade Masculine Series.

What a quick, easy, and fun way to dress up a plain old gift bag! Here's what I came up with:

Stamps:
-sentiment from Silhouette Blooms II(Kim Hughes)

Paper:
-Thomas Kinkade Masculine Series Paper

Accessories:
-large grommets We R Memory Keepers
-Ofray ribbon

Tools:
-Nestabilities by Spellbinder

Then I decided to try to make one with some paper from the new Kim Hughes Mocha Chica Paper.

Paper:
-small gift bag from Michael's
-Mocha Chica paper pack

Accessories:
-Doodle Bug Brads
-Ofray Ribbon

You can buy a pack of cheap little bags at most of the craft stores and in just a few minutes have them looking like you spent a ton of money on a custom bag.

If you haven't come by to check out these great classes yet, you really should because they are a lot of fun!

Challenge Chicks #13-Goin' Green!

I can't believe I haven't posted since Wednesday. Well, Wednesday night was Tyler's 16th birthday party. 15 kids over playing video games and watching movies! The boys went home at midnight and the girls stayed the night. After work on Friday and all day Saturday I was at the high school helping with a leadership workshop. Today, I just got the laundry done and went to see "Get Smart" with the family-which, I highly recommend!

I will try to be a better blogger this week for you! Today is challenge chicks Monday and the girls decided to "go green" which meant we had to come up with a project from something recycled. I chose this jar to recycle:

It started as this and quickly turned into this:

The plan is to fill it with some patriotic colored candy. But....I can't seem to find any. Don't they make red, white, and blue M & M's? Hershey's Kisses? Anything? If you know where to find some red, white, and blue, candy, be sure and let me know!

I punched scalloped ovals in the side so that the candy (when I find some) will show through!

Some of the other members of the design team joined the challenge this week. Have fun checking out their projects too!

Challenge Chicks #9-Altered Project

I love altering frames so when I found out that the CHF challenge chicks challenge for today was to stamp an altered project I knew I wanted to work on a frame.

Check out the writing paper stamp on the lower half of the frame. How cool is that? It's one of the new Scrapblocks being released by Cornish Heritage Farms. Mona Lisa has info about this great new stamp line on her blog this morning.

The rest of the stamps for this project are from Kim Hughes, Makin the Grade set. I am lovin' it! Can you tell?

A bunch of the CHF Chicks played along with our challenge today so go start your blog hoppin'-you're in for a treat! Julia Stainton -Lesley Langdon -Dawn Lusk-Sherrie Siemens -Julie Campbell -Lori Craig -Lisa Silver -Michelle Boyer-Becky Olsen

Challenge Chicks #6-Stazon

Happy Monday!

Today's Challenge Chicks Challenge was to use stazon. One of the things I love about stazon is how well it stamps on plastic. I made this cute little beach set gift for my niece for her birthday.

I used Kim Hughes, Summer Fun Set for all the images. There is a towel, a water bottle, and a blow up inner tube in the bucket.

The inner tube topper wasn't made with stazon but I wanted you to see it! We've been having beautiful summer weather lately in Southern California. I hope the sun is shining where you are too!

Make sure you check out the other challenge chick's blog's too:

Backgrounder Blitz-Challenge #3

Today's challenge over at CHF is: Backgrounders stamped on anything but paper. This was a fun challenge for me because I have been wanting to try stamping on clay. I used Sculpey oven baked clay for these.

There is still a learning curve for me but I think this medium still has possibilities!

For this key chain I used a tiny flower shaped cutter to cut the white Sculpey Clay. Then I poked a hole throught one of the petals and baked it. After it was cool I used the Victorian Floral Backgrounder stamp to stamp the entire image in Rose Coral Fluid Chalk ink by Clearsnap. I had the key chain links laying around in a drawer. They were left over from an old broken key chain.
For the bookmark I used nearly the same process. I cut the tulip out with a small shaped cutter. then I stuck the paperclip into the middle of the tulip and baked it. When cool I stamped the entire image (front and back) with the Geometric Flowers II Backgrounder using Warm Red Fluid Chalk Ink by Clearsnap. I used a little Xmas Red Stickles to glam it up a bit too.

I hope you'll join the challenge for today. Just head over to the CHF Forums for more info!

Revitalized Trash

Getting ready to head to bed but before I do I wanted to share one last Easter Project with you. I am always on the hunt for things that I can alter. My kids tease me about being a dumpster diver but I've got them trained to look at garbage in a new light!

So last week before my son threw away the empty salsa jar, he turned to me and asked if I wanted it. Well, look at it...of course I wanted it!!!!

It was perfect because the label could easily be peeled off, the jar is symetrical and the words on the lid could be easily covered up. My daughter wanted a little something to give to her boyfriend for Easter so this is what we came up with.

Stamps:-An Egg for you (Asela Hopkins) by Cornish Heritage Farms
-mmmm....chocolate (Asela Hopkins) by Cornish Heritage Farms
-Happy Easter (Asela Hopkins) by Cornish Heritage Farms
-chick n' egg (Asela Hopkins) by Cornish Heritage Farms

Paper:-Prismatic Majestic Purple Light, Majestic Purple Medium, Frosted Kiwi
-Georgia Pacific smooth white cardstock

Ink:-Brilliance Graphite Black pigment ink by Tsukineko
-Copic Markers
-Adirondack espresso, Aqua & Eggplant dye ink by Ranger

Accessories:-Silver Cord (unknown source)
-prima flowers-brads by Queen & Co.
-grossgrain ribbon by Ofray

Tools:
-Nestabilities by Spellbinder-Paper piercer

We filled it up with Reeses Chocolatle/Peanut Butter Eggs.

Here is the lid. I should have used my Stamp-a-majig so the words would be straight but I got a little lazy. I don't think he'll notice...

It's probably a little late for you to whip one of these up for Easter but hopefully it inspires you to look at your trash in a different light.

Hope you are able to spend some special time with your family on Easter. Take Care!

Final DT Challenge

Today was my day to issue the challenge to the design team. I challenged them to make anything other than a card. I made these little goodies for my daughter to take to school on Valentines Day.
I had asked her at the beginning of the month if she wanted me to make anything and she said no. But being 15....the night before, she changed her mind so I had to come up with something quick!
I found the little heart bags at Michael's. They came with little red twist ties. I filled the bags with "hugs" and then made the little tags with my Nestabilities by Spellbinders. Quick and simple!
Stamps: Hugs and Kisses (kim Hughes) by Cornish Heritage Farms
Paper: Prismatic Classic Red &white by Prism
Ink: Cranberry & mushroom, Adirondack dye ink by Ranger, Walnut Stain distress ink by Ranger
Tools: Nestabilities by Spellbinders, bag by Wilton from Michael's

I hope you had a very special Valentines Day!

McGill Punch Frame

Well, I am back from CHA. I only live 50 miles from Anaheim so it was an easy trip for me. It was so fun to finally meet so many of the wonderful ladies I've chatted with on the internet and to meet some of the CHF design team in person. Poor Julie was sick in the hotel room most of the time but she made it to the show today. I got to take several classes over the weekend. One of my favorites was the McGill punch class. We used three of their new punches. This frame is one of the projects we made. It was really simple. The frame is covered in beautiful Daisyd's paper. That's Julie Campbell and Ali Miles in the picture with me. What lovely women they both are!

No Stamping!!! We used Xyron to adhere the paper to the frame for the class as decopage would have taken to long to dry.
Paper: Feuillage and Bagatelle by Daisyd's
Punch: McGill Heirloom Heart Punch

Colorbox Queue Book

Good Morning! I wanted to share a little book I made to help keep me organized. I have quite the collection of these little ColorBox Fluid Chalk Queue's by Clearsnap. Cornish Heritage Farms sells them in the store. What I love best about them is that CHF has coordinated their packages of Prism Cardstock to match up with each of the queue's. I love not having to try and figure out what ink goes with the paper!

If you haven't yet tried the prism paper's, it's a great way to start. Pick up a package of paper and a coordinating Queue. The problem I have been having is that when I go to post a card in the gallery I have to no idea what the color of the ink is that I used on the project and I have been taking the time to go back to the store and look it up.

So, I came up with this book that has a page for each of the queue's. Each page lists the colors in that queue and I stamped a little sample color with the smiley face from the Tag! You're it! set.

I used my nestabilities and put eyelets in the corner. The title page was made with letters from Quirky Alphabet.

Here's a close up of one of the pages. I just leave it hanging on my bulletin board so it's handy when I want to check out color samples or remember what color I all ready used.
